About Brandon

Brandon M. Wheeler, LMFT (#201415) has been helping Houstonians achieve health, happiness, and wholeness since 2006.  Brandon is the owner and senior clinician of Wheelhouse Counseling.  His academic training and professional work continue to motivate positive, solution-focused change for individuals, couples, and families.

Brandon offers counseling / psychotherapy, coaching, educational workshops including pre-marital education, wedding officiation, and more.

In addition to clinical work, Brandon is known for contributions to the professional mental health community.  Brandon has served as Executive Director for the Texas Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (TAMFT) and President of its Houston affiliate, among other roles.  He has served as an adjunct psychology professor at several local universities in recent years and is known for his commitment to mentoring future generations of therapists.

Brandon often presents at local and state conferences on psychotherapy ethics, healthy relationship habits, family finance management and more.  His work has been featured on Channel 11 KHOU several times, and in other professional arenas.

Brandon is best known for relationship counseling, primarily with couples.  In fact, many of Brandon’s premarital therapy clients have ultimately requested Brandon to officiate their wedding.

Brandon also works with adults on the Autism Spectrum and adults wrestling with anxiety and/or depression.

Some therapists are fairly rigid about counseling content, structure, frequency, etc.  Brandon's philosophy is to focus on the issues that are most important to the client, and then tailor the counseling experience to fit those specific needs.

Whether you prefer to meet with Brandon one-on-one or if you prefer to have members of your social network in the room with you, Brandon will work with you to reach your life goals.  Sessions are available in-person at his office, online, and even in a client’s home when appropriate.
